The Network Manager provides leadership to enhance and improve the end user experience of all system supported byt the enterprise network and communication systems, i.e. collaboration tools, telephone systems, local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) managed by Information Services. This person will provide thought leadership in the areas of connectivity, traffic management, network security, and network management. This person will be responsible for the development, documentation, and implementation of operational procedures, maintenance programs, and other continuous improvement efforts for all communication related infrastructure. The network managers ensures effective utilization of network management tools and applications to enhance system performance and limit downtime; develops recommendations for purchases of network hardware, software, and communications for current and future system needs; directs testing and develops procedures for problem management, disaster recovery, and network and system changes. Reviews project feasibility studies, confers with management to prioritize projects, and prepares progress reports regarding project development initiatives. This person will help develop, implementation, and sustain change management, incident management, and other operational programs as required. This position participates in the On Call rotation for incident management.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
