  • Overview

    Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the Director of Talent Management is to provide enhanced strategic focus on talent acquisition, organizational development activities, including creating the avenues to ensure a strong Baptist Culture, workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development, and team development strategies.  The Director will direct the strategic design, development and evaluation of the talent acquisition and development strategy, operations, services, programs, projects, and functions and ensures that they align with the mission and goals of the organization.  The Director will supervise the departmental staff, directly and cross-functional teams indirectly and direct reports include the Talent Acquisition Manager and the Organizational Development Manager.  He/She will participate in planning and process development within the organization and HR as required, as well as other duties as required.

     

    The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required; Masters in Human Resources, Organization Development, Psychology (or other related field that would directly relate to this role along with appropriate work experience) strongly preferred;
    • 3-5 years of human resources, organizational development and/or talent management experience; 5 or more years of people development experience; 3 or more years of progressive experience in a supervisory, consultant or management capacity, including management experience in a large, complex environment
    • Myers Briggs certification, or equivalent personality inventory assessment tool certification preferred; coaching certification preferred
    • The ability to work at all levels of an organization with ease, developing effective relationships, coupled with excellent facilitation skills, communication skills and presentation skills is required.
    • Experience in benchmarking and implementing best-in-class strategies, processes and programs associated with talent acquisition, management and development.
    • Experience developing internal and external strategic relationships and leading diverse, cross-functional teams.
    • The ability to influence and “sell” at all levels of an organization coupled with the courage to stand behind his/her convictions.
    • Demonstrative evidence of integrity, values and confidentiality.
    • Reputation for being a team player with strong collaboration skills.
    • Ability to manage people around defined objectives.
    • Demonstrated success partnering with business unit leaders across functions and geographies to craft customized impactful learning and development strategies.
    • Performance management, professional development and training experience required.

    • Strong ability to develop and use metrics to make the business case for programs, align strategy with corporate goals and assess and justify the performance of programs.
    • Ability to use insight of the organization’s internal and the external business environment to improve outcomes that affect business unit performance.
    • Strong ability to manage multiple programs, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and switch between tasks quickly
    • Ability to publicly represent company with internal and external clients.

    • Experience presenting to different audiences verbally, in writing and in presentation formats required.
    • Understanding of Human Resouorces issues, strategies and employment laws (EEOC, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, NLRA) and HR fundamentals required.
    • Knowledge of regulatory standards and ability to ensure that standards are being met.
    • Solutions-focused, self starter with proven experience in process/program improvement, as well as a strong bias towards problem solving and process optimization with the ability to manage a complex workforce
    • Ability to balance cyclical daily, weekly and monthly demands with project work in a fast paced environment with high volume and complex demands.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage successfully towards timelines.
    • Must have service-oriented attitude, and solid understanding of effective practices in human resource via in-person and online environments, and strong understanding of current research in related fields.
