  • Overview

    The Charge Nurse is an experienced RN with in-depth knowledge and understanding of providing nursing care to a population of OB/GYN and infants patients and their families. This position requires the coordinator to impact care in a variety of settings. Under the direction of the Manager, the Charge Nurse fulfills the roles of clinician and educator. The Charge Nurse manages the coordination of patient care throughout the OB/GYN unit.  The Charge Nurse is responsible and accountable for the direction and oversight of all daily activities of the clinical unit

      

    The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

    Qualifications

    • Must have ASN degree or Nursing Diploma
    • Three years clinical experience required, Advanced clinical experience required
    • Current RN licensure in the state of Florida
    • BLS through American Heart Association
    • ACLS and NRP (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
    • NIH (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
    • Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills
    • Demonstrated leadership ability.Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communications skills, ability to deal well with people, ability to problem solve, ability to confront/resolve issues, ability to motivate others, ability to plan, organize and direct the activities of others
