  • Overview

    The Clinical Educator – Physician Services serves as the EDUCATOR for new employee orientation and facilitates annual staff development through formal and informal training programs. The educator collaborates with the Clinical Education team to provide computer, process, and task orientation and retraining as deemed necessary.  He/she facilitates quality reports to assure proper documentation and follow through are being met.  The educator is an RN who follows / teaches established patient care process, including patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. He/She ensures adherence to organizational policies, and nursing procedures, standards, and practices.  In collaboration with other certified clinicians serves as the clinical subject matter expert and internal consultant to leadership assuring that professional standards of practice in the clinical area are integrated into decision making, operations, and practice.  Assesses, designs, presents, and coordinates educational programs, and orientation for the department’s staff. Designs and facilitates clinical competencies for the department and organization.  Works well with all members of the physician practices.  The educator is responsible for providing staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader and researcher. This role supports the development of the Physician practices clinical staff, and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence based nursing practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development. In addition, as a role model of professional behavior, the educator is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate to meet the diverse and global needs of the facility. Travel will be required to facilitate consistent practice and collaboration with entities across Baptist Health Care.


    The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Education required. Master’s Degree desirable
    • Two years in outpatient/ambulatory/Primary Care office is required
    • Current Florida RN license required
    • BLS through American Heart Association
    • Magnet recognized certification required within 2 years of employment/transfer
    • Strong customer service
    • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
    • Critical thinking
    • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
    • Ability to work with multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
    • Ability to clearly communicate concepts and task performance
