Under the administrative direction of the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Baptist Health Care (BHC), the VP of Finance primary responsibility is the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s external and internal financial reporting. The ability of the VP of Finance to work collaboratively with the system SVP & CFO, other members of the Finance leadership team, and key operations leaders to evaluate operational challenges and industry trends to position the health system to succeed in the evolving health care environment will be critical. The VP of Finance directs and has managerial responsibilities for general accounting, decision support, budgeting, tax, pension, treasury & cash management, accounts payable, supply chain, laundry, payroll, and bio medical services. The VP of Finance is the primary individual responsible for strategic cost reductions and expense management for BHC.
The VP of Finance must have superior communication and analytical skills to be successful in the position. The ideal candidate will poses the proven ability to assess and develop the team members within their areas of responsibility, while simultaneously developing effective working relationships with key members of the organization’s leadership team. The VP of Finance will be relied upon to provide guidance to their peers in balancing between risk and opportunity, while safe guarding the organization’s assets.
The person in this position is self-directed and works under minimal supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters. This position serves under the incident command structure.
