  • Overview

    The Application Analyst functions as a team member providing front line support on information systems technologies which are used across the health system.  The analyst is responsible for assisting in providing application(s) configuration support, testing, implementation, and training to enhance clinical and administrative applications, operational efficiencies, patient safety, and departmental workflow needs.

     

    The position requires the ability to work various shifts during system go lives or major upgrades as needed and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters as well as the ability to travel to any of the service locations.

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s Degree in IT or Healthcare related field is required or three (3) years healthcare IT related experience in lieu of degree
    • Three years IT or healthcare related experience is required
    • Working knowledge of EHR, ancillary clinical systems, revenue cycle systems, and HIT. Knowledge of integration with ancillary applications such as Laboratory systems and Radiology or PACS systems, and Admitting/Registration, Revenue Cycle, HIM or web/mobile applications.
    • General understanding of interfaces, coding standards, and healthcare data standards.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Working knowledge of configuration and training on a major vendor healthcare information system.
    • General knowledge of Meaningful Use, PQRS, HEDIS guidelines and requirements.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Able to perform duties with extreme professionalism with physicians and their staff members while under considerable stress.
