  • Overview

    This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Under broad policy guidelines, is responsible for the total inpatient operations of the pharmacy services at all BHC inpatient facilities (BH, GBH, JH, etc.) according to hospital policies, standards of practice and State and Federal laws; Provides support for the day-to-day oversight of distributive services through the effective management of the pharmacy staff; In collaboration with Pharmacy Administration, contributes to departmental planning and formulates policies and procedures for the pharmacy services; Responsible for staff productivity and fostering an environment where pharmacy services are provided in an accurate, appropriate, and timely manner; Ascertains that pharmacy staff members demonstrate a level of competence, professionalism, and customer services as defined and required by job performance standards and professional practice; Assists in the teaching of students and house staff where applicable; Devotes an adequate amount of time to administrative activities; Frequently contacts the physicians, nurses, patients and other professional personnel; Regularly works with confidential information; Assist with human resource management, scheduling, workflow optimization in all areas of pharmacy, compliance with all quality/regulatory agencies, controlled substances, charge master, timekeeping, and contribution to the 340B program; Be a servant leader, to work collaboratively with other departments in efforts to streamline the highest quality of care to our patients; and Organizes training and orientation procedures and schedules.



    The person in this position is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.


    • Knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy workflow, Joint Commission regulations, state law, USP 797 and DEA regulations.
    • Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Florida
    • Florida Consultant Pharmacist License (CPh) required or achieved within 12 months of hire or transfer
    • Two (2) years in an acute care hospital pharmacy experience is required.
    • Bachelors of Pharmacy or  Pharm.D. are required.
