  • Overview

    Under the direction of the Charge Entry Supervisor, this position is responsible for verifications by contacting patients or insurance carriers of charges received, adding demographic including insurance information and entering CPT and ICD-9 codes to the practice management system.

     

    The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree Required
    • Six (6) months of data entry experience, preferred
    • Must be able to demonstrate ability of the following: Written communication skills, Written communication skills , Verbal communication skills, Medicare regulations, Coding, Excel, Specific applications to use PC applications to achieve work goal, Office applications: email, fax module, scan PDF, Fast paced work environment, Meeting deadlines, Organized, Time management, Conforming to standards, Billing process, Audit Techniques, Registration,  Patient collection process, Registration, Healthcare financial regulations, Work well with other departments to achieve goal, Insurance collections process, Data entry, Works well within a team structure, and 10 key calculator.
