  • Overview

     

    A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is one whose major function is to administer occupational therapy care programs or portions thereof, as planned and directed by a registered occupational therapist (OT/ OTR/L). Under the direction of the rehabilitation manager, provides occupational therapy services to clients following the plan of care established by an occupational therapist.

     

     

    The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters

    Qualifications

    • Basic keyboard skills
    • Maintain current FL COTA License
    • BLS through American Heart Association
    • Successfully completed a period of supervised fieldwork experience required by the recognized educational program for occupational therapy assistants that is accredited by NBCOT of predecessor organizations
    • Graduate from an associate or certificate level occupational therapy assistant program accredited by NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) or predecessor organization; Passed a nationally recognized entry-level examination for occupational therapy assistants
