  • Overview

    The Environmental Services Team Lead performs cleaning tasks in patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, ancillary areas, public areas according to hospital/facility prescribed procedures. He/She performs trash removal, furniture moves, cleaning of equipment, store room and dock, emergency flood clean-ups and project cleaning within the hospital environment including but not limited to floors, carpet, furniture, and/or walls. Work independently or as a team with other hospital staff.

     

    Leads and coordinates the activities of the Environmental Services staff while working alternating holidays.

     

    The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree OR Two years of housekeeping, janitorial or environmental cleaning services may be substituted in lieu of degree.
    • One year environmental service experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
    • Completion of UV light certification within six months of employment/transfer
    • Excellent customer relations, telephone and verbal communications skills, ability to follow directions, basic reading and writing skills. Must have good working knowledge and be capable of accessing and using all department related computer systems.
    • Possesses the necessary skills to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers, write simple correspondence, and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
