  • Overview

    Under the direction of the vice president of clinical services and guidance of the medical director, the Service Line Director ensures service and programmatic development, physician integration and resource utilization and control in order to support and enhance patient care and growth. This position is accountable for planning, organizing and providing administrative direction and control of the identified clinical service focus area. The Service Line Director is responsible for implementing and directing programs within the Service Line.  He/She has continuous interaction with physicians, patients, payers, community agencies and other clinicians and leaders to ensure an integrated program initiative. The Service Line Director directs, markets, and promotes the service line throughout the regional community.  The incumbent facilitates and evaluates current programs and develops new programs to ensure world class quality of care. 


    The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.


    • Bachelor's degree is required
    • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare environment
    • Two years of relevant experience in a management or leadership role  
    • Demonstrates excellent quantitative and analytic skills, and solid critical thinking skills. Demonstrates solid analytical skills and organizational skills to develop and manage assigned programs, to develop and administer departmental budgets, and to act on marketing information.
    • Demonstrates excellent leadership/management skills and the ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
    • Demonstrates the interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to articulate ideas clearly and concisely, to make effective presentations, and to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
