The Registered Nurse is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting in the daily operations of the dept. such as patient scheduling, staff scheduling, equipment maintenance and operation, and report of equipment failures. Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase his/her level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease and new procedures as the evolve. The Registered Nurse provides care and education for the patient based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment. Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. This individual also directs and guides the patient care activities of ancillary personnel and other patient care personnel, while maintaining standards of professional practice.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
