Overview

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of care to pre and post and surgery/procedure patients from pediatrics through the life span using the nursing process. The RN identifies patient needs, sets goals, with patients and physicians, and implements nursing interventions activities to achieve optimal patient outcomes in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. This Nurse is cross-trained to function in circulator or technician role to work in GE Lab, Pain Management, and assisting with Bronchoscopies, TEE/Cardioversions, and various Radiology procedures; must be credentialed to administer conscious sedation during aforementioned procedures under the direction of the physician.

The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Qualifications

  • Associate of Nursing Degree or nursing diploma
  • Two (2) years’ experience in acute care hospital nursing required
  • Current Licensure in the State of Florida.
  • BLS through American Heart Association
  • ACLS is required within 90 days of employment/transfer
  • NIH is required within 90 days of employment/transfer
  • Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in regulatory agency education classes and in relevant area of nursing practice
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to adapt to department workload
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
