Overview

Responsible for all facets of sterile compounding at all Baptist Acute Care Hospitals (Baptist, Gulf Breeze, and Jay) and other facilities as needed.  This includes, but is not limited to: Policy and procedure development and implementation for sterile and non-sterile compounding; Assure compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and assist with compliance with USP 795; Collaborate with Pharmacy Administration to optimize work flow efficiency; In collaboration with Business Manager, assess IV Admixture supply needs, and develop processes for inventory optimization; Oversee all infusion center operations, BH and Ciano; Collaborate with pharmacy administration and Human Resources, develop and monitor an employee health monitoring plan to comply with USP 800; Collaborate with pharmacy administration in budget development as it relates to sterile and non-sterile compounding; policy / procedure development for all IV Admixture Services in compliance with USP Chapter’s 797, USP 800, TJC, State Board of Pharmacy, etc.; Maintaining appropriate batching records, hood cultures, sterility assessments, etc as recommended by all compliance agencies;  and Development and implementation of training protocols, procedures, and scheduling with respect to IV Compounding operations.  In addition to IV Admixture, this person will be responsible for all other staff pharmacist functions.

 

The person in this position is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of science degree in pharmacy PharmD preferred
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital required
  • Current Florida Pharmacist license required
  • Basic computer skills including MS Word and the Internet
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy workflow, Joint Commission regulations, state law, USP 797 and DEA regulations.
