The Cardiovascular Special is responsible to perform all required procedures in the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory, operating specialized equipment including but not limited to the x-ray equipment, EP pacing systems, hemodynamic monitoring, and other specialized equipment. This positon trains other staff technologists and students as needed.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Certified Radiologic Technologist license required, if applicable.
RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) or Certification with NASPE (National Society Pacing Electrophysiology) is required within 18 months of hire/transfer.
BLS and ACLS through American Heart AssociationNIH within 90 days of employment/transfer
