Overview

**This is a Temp position, lasting 90 days to 6 months. 

 

Under the direction of the Patient Finance Supervisor, the Patient Account Rep I is responsible for various tasks in the Accounts Receivables reconciliation process that may include but not limited to: Posting cash/insurance payments to patient accounts, Maintains Unidentified accounts, ensures money posted to Unidentified accounts are transferred to the appropriate patient accounts timely, processes credit card payments, scans/indexes patient/insurance  payments to the patient account in Horizon Business Folder in a timely manner, maintaining unapplied cash accounts to ensure money is posting correctly to the appropriate account.

 

The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree Required and one of following is preferred: Bachelor’s Degree OR Post High School “2 year” Certificate in Healthcare Business or General Business with Financial Focus OR Current Professional or Technical Certification from HFMA, AAHAM or NAHAM
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
  • Must have the ability to manage/maintain all assigned accounts in a timely manner, in accordance with hospital polices and procedures, with a must that  expectations and goals are met on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
  • Must be able to use a computer, calculator, fax, copier and other office tools needed to perform daily job duties. Must have good team member skills to encourage and foster both individual and team growth.
  • Experience with McKesson HealthQuest, EC2000 or other HIS and Claims Editing software system required.
