The Clinical Nurse provides care and education for the patient based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment.
Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. A Heart and Vascular Center Nurse is a team member who works with increasing independence to set criteria for the quality of patient care, assess patients needs and plan for the individualized care of patient using specialized knowledge and skills, and evaluates the outcomes of diagnostic procedures. This individual also directs and guides the patient care activities of ancillary personnel and other patient care personnel, while maintaining standards of professional practice. The Heart and Vascular Center Nurse must be able to work to facilitate the schedule of the department.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
